To Forget, and feel lost forever from yesterday
I would give almost anything to do
It was wonderful what happened all those years ago
But the past is overflown with disappointing memories too

And they will not leave me in my time of solitude
which has become the biggest factor in my life
So I keep trying to hide behind a blanket of shadow
to escape the troubling things, but they've become so rife

Where am I to go anymore? To the mountains, in a cave?
Somewhere the echoes are the only thing I hear?
In a large, diverse crowd where my thoughts are silenced by the disarray?
To the moon? Or should I stay put, right here?

Should I stay awake and be fed to the torture of my mind,
endure it's eating away at my pride, at my peace?
Or fall into the sweetest, deepest sleep to avoid being overwhelmed
by this constant, consistent pressure? Then, Will it not cease?

Am I really to know what to do,
should I really think on it all day?
I only wish now that it would work
when I tell the past to permanently go away

but time won't let me go, as they say
It's got me all tangled in chains, it whips me until I'm blue
and choking out wads of spit and blood
Then looks at me disgusted with a face askew

If only I knew, If only I had the slightest clue
as to what I've done to time to make it rub my nose in the dirt.
What could I do to fix it up, what is there that I can make better?
And Should I never find the answer will I keep getting hurt?

Oh time, you must put me down how ever harshly or soft
I cannot stand to be your prisoner forever
You make me think the most awful things of myself all day and night
of all the things I did wrong and could've done so much better
...all those things I could've done so much better
