Better Than You Poem by Dustin Burel

Better Than You

Whoa, he really must have something wrong in his head,
He tries to get at me while I’ve already bled,
Nothing can bother me when I feel dead,
My concern is for you, it’s already been said.

It’s funny, you know, what he has tried,
It does nothing to me, but it’s made his kiss died,
He’s used all his things that should have a meaning,
For a wrong cause he’s made it demeaning,

While he feels clever and thinks he has won,
While I’ll tell you, she’s not a game, and nothings been done,
I see an angel and he see’s property,
He clings to your arm like you’re his trophy,

What he has done has killed your romance,
And yet if I touch you, you fall in a trance,
I wonder if he thinks if he even bothers me,
Well, it doesn’t matter because I write poetry,

He can do what he wants and try as he does,
And go on and think that’s how it was,
Control what you want, and lie as you do,
Soon you will realize I’m better than you.
