Beyond Sight Poem by Tracey Hardie

Beyond Sight

Lush green flickers
shades of blue-black.
A coral thumbnail
draws the sky into night's mask.

Mudfish kiss rubber-band sounds
to toads who belch round-mouth
and to legs that sigh a breathless chirp.

The air drops warmth into pockets
as windmill eyes harvest mountainside's
crevice, where fireflies cast silhouettes
in places only they can see.
