Birth of a Poem

It takes its birth
At a time when
Silence is suppressed
And moods get mellowed.
The excitement of
The impulse, pervades
The joyous senses
And the magic spellbound
Of dumbness, conquers
The world within.
There shines a voice
Akin a glitterati glow
Versifying a verse
With a lyrical flow.

Poem of the Day

poet Henry David Thoreau

My books I'd fain cast off, I cannot read,
'Twixt every page my thoughts go stray at large
Down in the meadow, where is richer feed,
And will not mind to hit their proper targe.
