I stand before you like El Cid,
Ready now to battle Covid.
With my trusty steed and sword,
I face both the enemy and the reward.
Take me to the masquerade where birthday cake is promised.
To ease both my stomach and hypothalamus.
Loneliness from seclusion
As fear from confusion,
Were mere tests of strength and courage.
For those that are ready to overcome the scourge,
Dancing and merriment as health and wealth is encouraged.
True, birthday presents can delight more than toiletpaper on sale.
However, seeing a twinkle of happiness in tired old eyes,
Is like a breath of fresh air for all those waiting to exhale.
Let the mirth fill our lungs with gladness and song,
For masks cannot suppress feelings this strong.
"Happy birthday mid Covid to one and all,
May next year bring no Covid at all."

Aww such a heartwarming bright jaunty poem, awesomely expressing muse on this global pandemic. I loved many lines, yes masks can not suppress feelings ever. And the ending line a hearty prayer you summed up well that we all wish the same. Happy birthday! Kudos! Plz do read and comment your thoughts on my newest prose titled, " face veils/face masks same thing " as it fosters an understanding of the shared veiling practice btw east and west since history.

'Your hypothalamus acts as your body's smart control coordinating center. Its main function is to keep your body in a stable state called homeostasis. It does its job by directly influencing your autonomic nervous system or by managing hormones' Amen bri ;)
