Bittersweet Freedom Poem by Ayako Mikawa

Bittersweet Freedom

The smell of the sea water.
The warmth of the sunlight.
'Twas the freedom we've acquired,
For all hardships we've met.

The breeze swayed your cape,
Yet your eyes focused at the sight.
I approached, smiled, laughed.
Overjoyed by our freedom.

Thou, there, frowned all along.
Still within the trance of the sights.
I, here, said within tears.
Thee shall acquire peace now.

Smile started to glow on your face.
A genuine smile before you fade.
Smiling, as you said not to worry.
Crying, as I accept your departure.

'.. Yes, sir..'

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
It was inspired by a doujinshi I've read last night.
It was so warm, yet so bitter.
So, the feels I'm trying to convey here is..
Bittersweet?

I don't know anymore.
I suppose that's all I wanted to say, 'cause my sight is blocked by these tears.
Bye.
