Blissful Dream Poem by Teren Brungardt

Blissful Dream

She had eyes and hair
Of marshmallows browned,
Her face was lit with harmony
And she never frowned.

Her blushed cheeks
Were the pink of the sunset,
I was filled with unfathomable joy
The moment our eyes met.

Unlike everyone else
She exchanged my look with a sweet smile,
A magnificent sight
Which I haven't seen in a while.

She was who and what I wanted
But what I knew I could never have had,
For she was a goddess
And I am nothing and sad.

She came to me
Saying that she thought I was great,
Maybe it was possible
Could it be fate?

We were happy
We shared so many wonderful days,
I was filled with joy
And hoped that this was how it stays.

Then, everything was engulfed by shadows
Tearing at the seam,
I awoke to realize
It was just a Blissful Dream.
