Blocked Exits Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Blocked Exits

Consoling the mindset,
Of the many victimized by deceivers.
Does not sit well with those,
Dripping from sweat.
Waist down to leave their feet wet.
And in fear to notice all exits blocked.
Purposely to confront and stop,
Liars trying every way possible to escape.
But too late to find out,
Heated truth seekers...
Are awaiting patiently on packed roads.
With more to offer,
Than speaking their minds.
Done to apply on their lieing behinds.

"Your Majesty of Craze and Outrageousness?

-Will you stop with that.
Your loyalty I am already aware of.
But don't you think,
By now it is a bit overdone.
Yet...
Go on.
You can not lavish enough of it on me.
What is it?
You looked 'spooked'.
Or should I say...
Overly colored.-

"Your Majesty of Meaningful Ways to Distract.
Soon...
And I can only this suggest.
Soon...
That huge rally you anticipated and expect.
Will not be the kind to boost your ego.
The people have begun,
Throwing tomatoes and lettuce.
And many have started to chant,
'THROW THE DOGS OUT'."

-So caring they are.
But...
Shouldn't that be,
'WHO LET THE DOGS OUT? '
God has blessed me with such genius.
Prepare my speech to mention,
Diet and the importance of maintaining...
Healthy eating habits.-

"What about the virus?
And the state of the economy? "

-I will not wear a mask.
So don't ask me that again.-
