Blood Poem by Charlotte Andreski

Blood

Rating: 5.0

I come home from your office
Throw myself against the wall
The thoughts swirling in my mind
They make me want to fall,
To swirl out of this dimension,
To leave all of this behind,
I know you mean to help me
But trust me, this is far from kind

I only think deeper
I only reach deeper, too
I even cut deeper
All because of you
I wish I could be perfect
Like you want me to be
I want myself to be perfect
But first I need to be free

When you open the doors
They all shut again
When you barricade the windows
I break through just for the gore
I love the blood splatter
Against the walls so plain
The bone beneath the terror
The heart behind the pain

Trust me, this is far from kind
Rehab I don’t need
All it ever makes me do
Is force myself to bleed
Blood, yes I am still human
Blood, yes I still breathe
But 'til the fresh air of heavens fill my lungs
I still have more blood to bleed

Speaking about blood, I puke, it's gory you know? This piece of work isn't horrible after all, it was written in a proper way so that readers could appreciate its meaning or interpret in their own way. For me it tells about a girl being forced to do something she doesn't want to, she want to be free from something evil. She would rather bleed to death than to do something that is against her will I don't know if this is the right interpretation but that's the way I look at it. Verdict - well done. Thanks..
