Blue Companions Poem by Biniam Tekeste

I sometimes feel like I'm distant,
All on my own with no one by my side;
Stranded in the ocean as a lonely island,
Unreachable with any possible hand.
If it's a must to say I've friends,
All I got are these blue companions -
The constant tides, restless waves,
That wear out the walls of my heart;
And the blue blanket I see above,
Always blue without clouds of hope.

Yes, this is what I sometimes feel!
