Blue Rose Poem by Sana Olivia Hernandez

Blue Rose

In youth its petals shine,
I yearn to make it mine.

When ripe this flower glimmers,
Its stem long, its thorns thinner.

A deep sapphire color.
Blue like the depths of the ocean.
Though age makes it dimmer.

To me this flower's a crown jewel.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I thought of this while going over a drawing of mine that displays a young, blue rose slowing decaying as it ages.
