Boat Of Mediocrity? Socrates? Poem by Luke Easter

Boat Of Mediocrity? Socrates?

Mediocre is simply none other that fear in disguise,
What are you fixed on, the direction of your eyes?
12 disciples in a boat only 1 has courage to step out,
“Lord if that’s you bid me to come” Peter would shout.

Matthew 14: 22, “Be of good cheer, it is I, be not afraid, ”
However, Peter allowed fear to take root inside anyway,
Although, in the beginning was there any doubt? Nope!
So, why is it the other 11 men chose to stay on the boat?

Remember, he only started to sink but after pulling him out,
Jesus said, “O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? ”
All because he allowed the boisterous wind to get in his way,
The question asked now, “is this where you’re at in life today? ”

You’re on the boat, it is vehemently rocking but you are safe,
Aware if you step out seven-foot waves will smack your face,
Standing only six feet tall it means the water is over your head,
Now you know the 1 word going through Peter’s mind. Dead!

And this was after feeding the multitude from food for about 2,
There’s a better understanding of why it’s troublesome for you,
A greater degree of insight into the reason not just anyone can,
Become the father of faith and how difficult it was for Abraham.

Imagine in the Old Testament, no cars, radio, TV, chocolate cake,
We have cell phones, video games, Internet, it’s still tough to wait,
Would we be quoting the likes of Plato, Shakespeare or Socrates,
If they experienced their lives traveling in a, “Boat Of Mediocrity? ”
