Breathe - Poem by yvette smith

In between the pause and the quick step breath

Breathe after the congestion of traffic and noise

The songs without words

Breathe without the constriction or affliction

Of pain or tightness

Take back a whole universe in one sigh of letting go

Then retrieving what is yours

The gift of your life
