Brimming To The Rim In Denial Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Brimming To The Rim In Denial

Rating: 4.0

Brimming to the rim in denial.
Putting truth on trial.
But none of this rhetoric,
Escapes observations...
That can not be erased,
As seen.
No matter who declares,
What 'is' or is not obscene.
Truth is not another version of deceit.
To be interpreted to inspire a life of delusions.
And delusions have never strengthened reality!

Mr. Pertillar: This one intrigues me a great deal. It seems to be bubbling with so many issues that even after reading it four times there is more there. I particularly like the way this one sounds when read aloud. Truth can be blotted out by ourselves or others, it can be ignored or forgotten, it can be twisted to a false purpose, or it can be missed because we are looking for something else. Each of these unfortunate fates seems to be lurking in the background of this poem. Very thought-provoking. Many thanks, G
