Bri's April-May 2022 Showcase Of 4 Poems Offered To Me, In Response To My Recent ' Dare' Poem

Rating: 5.0

Bri's Introductory Poem:

I had a GREAT INTRODUCTORY POEM, which, from here, did disappear.
It's not the first & won't be the last words I've 'lost'; to lose more I do now fear.
So, with no further ado, I now present to YOU more poems I wish to share.
May you enjoy at least one of them, IF, to read at least one of them, you dare!

============================================
These poems were offered to me, and I've copied & pasted them as I found them. They are not among my favorites necessarily, but you may favor one or more a great deal.
Thank you, four Poets, for daring to share. Thank you, Readers, for daring to read.

The Poems:

1 -

Startalk

Should I honor thee with your pen,
or remind you of who you still are,
now that wisdom has opened the eyes
of men, and clothed them with self-same
thoughts; old friend, should I scar you with
our love, and remind you of all of the lives
you cannot remember, now that heaven has
kissed and showed me images of some of
the things that exist beyond the physical plane?
If yes, schizophrenia does humble your too flawed and scientific mind.

Swallows

Where have all the swallows disappeared?

So did all the fiery blossoms of my spring in a huff!
Oh! Who has purloined the fragrance of my days
And the breeze that brought me the warmth of your hug?

Darkness fell at the dawn, know not from where
The sun has exited my days, know not where
With the sweet tenderness of your luscious lips
And the rousing moist softness of your body on mine.

But the fragrance of your dreamy eyes remains
So does the presence of sensuous giggles
The sweetness of roses and jasmine that spreads as you sweat
And the rhythm of your stressful sensual breathing against mine.

And I live!

Unsettling Images

Will our planet live
For our great grandchildren?
Can they be able to have
The luxury of a forest?

Will there still be
mountains and rivers?
What should they be eating?
Will some pills substitute
for their food?
How many animals and birds' species
survive by their time?
How will be the sky looking
Will it be blue or only smoggy?

I shudder at the thought
Of a nuclear or
a biological war
Will the countries come together
To stop the destruction
of our earth?

Who knows,
Given that of man's recklessness
Combined with his greediness
a minor mistake
May land us
in Chernobyl like tragedies
On a far bigger scale!

What earth should we leave?
May be some remnants
Stored in memory chips!

Where Will I Go?

Last night I lay upon my bed
and thought about the things she said.
She doesn't love me anymore
and wishes that we'd never wed.

She's never said such things before,
which causes me these pains galore.
My future now's not looking bright
because she's showing me the door.

I've always tried to do what's right ----
can't comprehend my current plight;
confusion reigns within my head;
hello the darkness, goodbye light.

Where Will I Go?

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

I had, in a very proud moment, offered the poem showcased here "Swallows" to Bri, sure that this was a very good one.

So...'sweatness' may lead to 'sweetness'! ! I really don't recall reading 'sweat' in the poem when I chose it, but I 'love' the line, UNNI. ;)

'The sweetness of roses and jasmine that spreads as you sweat' ...ahhh! This makes me think of a relationship founded, to a large extent, in a mutual quest for physical fitness ['sweat') bri : )

But, once I have seen all the poems that are in the showcase, I realise how poor my attempt is. Thank You Bri.

Actually, UNNI, I really think it is a fine success, NOT a poor attempt. It's even, AT LEAST, among the TOP FOUR poems presented here. [that's a joke; laugh now]Thanks. : ) bri
