Broken Pedals Poem by Meagan Reid

Broken Pedals

My pedals are falling
My time is running out
Can't wait for this life to be over
For the pretending to stop

It hurts to smile
And to laugh
When will my old beauty come back
My time is running out please help

My head rests on his shoulders
My life rests in his hands

My pedals are falling
My time is running out
Can't wait for this life to be over
For the pretending to stop

Look me in the eye
And tell me it's not true
You don't bring the knife to your skin
Just like I used to do

Tears are rolling down my face
Please tell me I'm not a disgrace
I watch the last pedal fall to the ground
And slowly bare a smile
