Broken Soul Poem by Joanna Gonzalez

Broken Soul

My soul is hurting, my heart has shattered
My joy has swam away to the island of sorrows.
The eyes on my face are pebbles on the ground;
They have been stepped on and are covered with dust,
They are dried and rough like the bark on a tree.
I have no tears left to cry;
They walked away from me longer than I could know.
The heavens don’t look at me the same way.
I have brought this against myself
I am a flower with no petals; it doesn’t belong with the others.
I have been vanished from existence but still have life.
I’ve lived my life with so much regret.
My mistakes are what brought me to this state.
My mind is closed and asleep
My mouth is shut with bitterness
My ears could hear nothing but deception.
I am everything I didn’t want to be
I am filled with everything I used to hate.
I am noting but a broken soul.
