Broombrella Poem by Owoyeye Oluwafemi Ebenezer

Broombrella

Rating: 4.5

I watched as they rant
And their paid defenders chant
Continuity was all I heared
And they wander like a shepherdless herd

I shook my head to their shame
And wonder, who am to blame
For I saw my peers join the dance
With zeal and vigour they prance

What a scene to behold
What should I think, than they have been sold
To the cabals that exploited our resources
And crowned their allies head of offices

In admiration I inquire the buying price
It was nothing than some notes and tins of rice
Oh! I pray ferverntly for their sake
Till I grew weak and my head ache

Who can tell aftermath of the broombrella
Who can guage the evils in their heart my fellas
The broom holders echoed change
The umbrelle spreaders cried power with rage

Thou I am a change fighter
Yet I long for a bite of power
But now I have found a new course
An avenue to wield the pen to revive the lost......
