Brushed Away Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Brushed Away

You, me and many others too.
Are living in times,
When a normalcy wished most wanted...
Has had more distractions.
Witnessed by the absence of reality.

Today...
There is no defense,
Against delusions kept to sweeten them.
Trusted are deceptions.
And fantasies animated,
From one to another...
Within seconds to change.
Not just to wish.
But quick to switch,
With only a few buttons touched.

As truth...
No longer accepted to respect it,
Decays to rust.
Becoming dust.
Brushed away.
Gone unnoticed for what it meant.
Or what truth was.
To once have been to depend upon,
When there was always a reason...
For truth to know and have it lived.
