Bucha Massacre - Unacceptable Inhumanity Poem by Bernedita Rosinha Pinto

Bucha Massacre - Unacceptable Inhumanity

And as he watched those dead bodies
strewn along the streets,
he ran and looked at their faces and asked....

Is this my father or is this my brother?
is this my mother or is this my sister?
is this my wife or is this my child?

is this existence or is this death?
is this life or is this brutality?
is this fate or is this hatred?

is this revenge or is this punishment?
is this injustice or is this inhumanity?
is this vengeance or is this cruelty?

is this war or is this hostility?
is this unacceptable or is this torture
is this eyes or is this darkness?

is this criminal or is this sinful?
is this reality or is this callousness?
is this violence or is this ruthlessness?
is this unworthiness or is this ungodliness?

and silently he cried....
