Buttercups Poem by Edwina Reizer

Buttercups

Tiny little buttercups
gloriously yellow and small
growing in abundance
a wondrous sight for all.

They said if I picked one of you
and held you under my chin,
a golden glow would shine
right upon my skin.

I did it as a child
when I would see them grow.
and also as an adult
alone, so no one would know.

Tiny little buttercups
I wait for you each spring.
How do you make that yellow glow
like no other flower can bring?
