By The Time Poem by Ronnie Heaven

By The Time

By the time
I stopped spinning
I had forgotten what I came here for
Perhaps I just wanted to be seen
By eyes imbued with scrutiny

By the time
I reached your table
You had found someone else
But I couldn't live with myself
If everything turned out alright

By the time
I finally got sober
I noticed my quanta was singing
Perhaps I'm just going crazy
You know how dramatic i can be

By the time
The clock struck thirteen
I saw a universe being born
Begat by the majesty of my alienation
Or it could have been a silly dream

By the time
She took her dress off
I was engorged, priapic
Tempest tossed with longing
She left without saying a word

By the time
By and by
