Cao'an Manichaean Temple Poem by Ima Ryma

Cao'an Manichaean Temple

Cao'an Manichaeans of past
Built a Buddhist temple to be
For centuries a shrine to last
Through all of China's history.
A simple building made of stone
Sitting upon a sloping hill,
Through all struggles this place has shown
A destiny to endure still.
Wisdom, Power, Purity, Light,
Four Manichaean attributes
To help the faithful with insight
In fulfilling good life pursuits.

This sacred monument among trees,
Surrounded by Communist Chinese.
