Cat Dance Poem by Rev. Rebecca Guile Hudson

Cat Dance

Rating: 5.0

You come dance on me,
So màs proud
Purring
With bloody mouse breath

“Hey! Stroke my fur
In approbation –
I am at the peak
Of my catness

“Hey! Stroke my coat,
Tell me I’m
Wonderful

“I experienced total
Feline bliss just now

“And I left you
A piece –
Over there –
“Come, run your hand
Across my spine,
My sides, my head
Again again again”

(Each word punctuated
With loving,
purring claws)

“I am cat
I am just that
I am quite fat
Tip me your hat
I just ate a rat

“Carniverous I
Love eating mouse pie
So now I bid you good-bye
For my lunchtime
Is nigh! ”
