Certain Standards Poem by Justin Kopp

Certain Standards

A change of pace
I need a new
Place to stay I need a job
And a brand new car
I'm broke, two dollars
I'm stuck here again trapped
I won't go to a zoo,
They lions eat better than I do
And the monkeys get more fruit and exercise
I haven't elected a president yet
And MTV has everyone hooked
I'm sick
Lost
I'm drunk I'm stoned I'm spinning along with everything else
Alone
No smile on the phone
Holding in my cigarette
Smoking it down the filter
Thinking of a way out
It's at the tip of my finger
On top of the world
