Chains Of Darkness Poem by Nikia Chesney

Chains Of Darkness

Rating: 5.0

Trapped in chains of darkness,
that I cannot break;
tortured by demoniac influences,
that I can no longer take.

An end to this suffering
I could not await;
Forever bound to the shadows
must be my fate.

Just then a light penetrates
through this dank, dark hold;
The warmth spreads from my face,
to the depths of my soul.

In the light stood a man I've never seen,
but somehow knew His name;
He aproached me with love,
and I held my head in shame.

His finger tucked under my chin,
He lifted my head;
Then said 'Come unto me,
and I'll give you rest.'

With His ever flowing grace,
He has forgiven me;
Breaking my chains of darkness,
and setting me free.

Across the vastness of my sins,
far beyond the ocean of tears;
He made me a new creature,
washing away the wasted years.

Never again will I walk in darkness,
or ever be bound in chains;
For my soul has tasted freedom,
and I will never be the same!

This really hit home, I've walked this path...but through all darkness light can be found if you search you will find....nothing is closed of in the mind for ever....not when your spirit reaches out to be free again to fly. Wonderful piece of writing, fantastic flow of emotion 10 Best of Health and Happiness Jon London
