Changing Course Poem by dave lessard

Changing Course

Rating: 4.7

The wind bit me in the neck
whipped my face with chilly force
ignoring it was fruitless
and so I changed my course;
now the wind was at my back
it pushed me gently down the path
I was giddy from inside
happy to have scorned its wrath;
I had no destination in my mind
only to exercise and walk
only to gain solitude
with no need for talk;
An hour's journey down the lane
brought me to the river
to its coarse and rocky shore
to the water and life's giver;
I marveled in its beauty
a ribbon - sparkling bright
satisfied at the path I took
in the early morning's light.
