Charade Poem by Alicia Meyers

Charade

I feel so trapped

Inside my body

I feel so weak

Inside me

I can't go on anymore

I can't go on telling lies

I don't believe it'll end anytime soon

Because if it does; everyone just dies

I lie here in the dark

Waiting for life to end

I wait upon the golden light

To shine again

Life is a desert

With no living thing

Life is useless

That we bring

All I want

Is to die and die

Till everyone is gone

I cry and cry

I can't stand living here

Even if it means to leave

What do you think we'll accomplish here

That you think we might achieve?

The blood in my soul

Is all in my hands

The blood in my heart

Is all we understand

The souls of people are dying

Everyone is trying their best

To keep everyone alive

But it seems that everyone is put to rest

I lay here as I'm a corpse

Dead and dry

I'm done with this charade

As I start to soak and cry

.
