Charity To Survive Poem by Rimni chakravarty

Charity To Survive

They say oil your own machine
You have no right to mind others business
As your aim is to win the race
So don't be keen
To know if your friend is sick
Better keep away from your neighbor in need
Just erase out from your mind the tearful face of a small child hungry in the streets
Just enjoy the Bollywood or the holly wood hits
The stray dogs may yell for your benevolence
Just ignore their presence
No you need not work for charity
That's not your priority
All you focus is on grabbing opportunities to your favor
You just forget of others labor
When you reach your target
Or you will be too late
To reach the pinnacle of your success
So forget charity at any rate
But then when you are in need of help?
Will others reach as you yell?
So I feel to smile I must feed others with a smile
My act of kindness will help me gain confidence
And feel the fragrance
Of the beautiful flowers
While I spend some time for hours
to bestow my love for others
In a way to help me
And feel the shade of the tree
That bestow the love of our mother
We sing in praise for Nature
For her bounteous gifts
We shed all our rifts
That exist in our life
Charity is then needed to survive.
