Cheering It On Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Cheering It On

Those who stand by,
Hearing how their own demise...
Is described.
While cheering it on.
In thunderous applause.
May yet to have their wishes come true.
To have themselves awaken to realize,
Evil done to others...
Ultimately returns.
To those who choose,
A doing to do evil.
With this done to repeat this love,
For a history to immulate.
As an heroic doing.
That seems to fascinate,
Their insecure mentalities.

"We...
Are a great people."

-And great to witness,
Your capabilities to destroy.
Even the interdependence of your lives.
And those you deny,
Have come to your aid.
As you continue lieing and deceiving,
Yourselves.-

"Your comments?
Are...
Appalling."

-When did you ever find the truth to hear,
To be anything else? -
