Choice Of A Marksman Poem by Ima Ryma

Choice Of A Marksman

Patrick Ferguson, marksman prime
Against the colonists, fought for
The British Crown during the time -
The Revolutionary War.
During battle, an officer,
American, came into sight
Of Ferguson's gun, and for sure,
Would be a deadly shot - yes quite!
But the target did have his back
To Ferguson, who chose not to
Shoot in such an unfair attack,
And Ferguson and gun withdrew.

In the sight of the marksman's gun -
The General George Washington.
