Choices Of Ones Mind Poem by Dillon Keuthonymos Crawford

Choices Of Ones Mind

Past memories scar the mind
Of those that disbelieve that they themselves cannot choose
Stand strong, stand proud
You have a heart, you have a soul
You only need
To make one choice
And that choice isn’t as simple as many think
Your given the choice to follow or lead
Do you stand up
Or do you hide away
Let us be the unspoken word
Let us be the whispers never heard
We will let
Our emotions fly free
Lets us be
Let us be

For in the end
What do you have?
A few loved ones and that one that’s called your self
But how well do you know them all?
Your heart aches as the time flows by
The river of pain flows fast through your veins
You let your mind race
You lock your soul away
Sit up
Tell me
Shadows or sun
There is no other way

There is but the way of self given or self taken
Will your life be given to you, already made up?
Or
Will you follow initiative and follow your heart to the end
Follow your mind
Follow the spirit within
Now I’ve said my mind, I’ve given my thoughts
I’m here to the end
Now choose
It’s all that you got
