Christmas 2007 Song – 7 Poem by Dr John Celes

Christmas 2007 Song – 7

Rating: 5.0

There will be hung bright- lit stars
In many households;
There will be festooned Christmas-trees
For many young-olds;
There will be sumptuous foods too
On many a table!
But born was the Son of God,
In just a cold stable!

But was there not a better place
For the King of kings?
And ‘Gloria in Excelsis
Deo! ’- The world sings!
And why did God choose poverty,
When born was His Son?
All pomp and show and grandeur,
Why did He then shun?

God gave His only Son for us
To die on the cross!
For redemption of all sinners,
Avoiding souls’ loss!
What Love He bore for creature man!
-Describe, no words can;
That’s the greatness of Christmas Day,
And what scriptures say!

Repent; reconcile with God, man;
Short is your life-span!
Jesus has paid a precious price
For your sins and vice!
Wake up then souls; turn to His grace,
With divine a face,
For, come’s another Christmas Day;
Return to God’s way!
