Cinderella

My divine sylph
Who inebriates my soul
Like absinthe showers
On a monsoonal dusk
Filling my chambers
With the promise of love

Hope reclines her carpet
To your gracious kingdom
As I hold on to your slipper
Made of slender glass
As your immortal footprint
Etches mythical journeys
Even fabled fairy tales
On my galloping heart

For hope is like a seed
Sown on fertile soil
Of my blossoming nucleus
For this bed of humus
That beats like a gong
Is the bedrock of a transcendent love

And you are my goddess
Who awoke my latent sentience
Paving rainbows, sculpting doorways
To your velvety lips
As I await for that evasive day
To lay you down on a bed of lavenders
Bathe your in amethyst water
As I let my lips navigate your cosmos
Horizon to horizon

I am..........
But a humble pauper
Gazing at a slipper
Every passing moment
Yearning to be serenaded
By the radiance of your eyes
And the serenity of your smile

Who are you my love........
Who crashed like lightning
And faded like gun smoke
A gossamer sylph
Floating in the fleeting mistrals
Wrenching my heart
With ghostly chains of love

My love...........
Comfort me like a pillow
Radiate me your eternal sunshine
Like the day we danced
Till the shadows stood tall
When your gossamer soles
Made sweet sensual love
To my meandering feet

For your glass slipper
Is my elan vital
Phlogiston to my flickering flame
A sailor in the seven seas
Searching for an evasive mermaid
The thread of hope
That stitches my fabric of love

As I await
Like a harbor to a lost ship
Hoping for the wand of fatum
To conjure a miracle
My Cinderella
Anchored to my arms
Bowing to the gravity
Of my yearning lips

For love is my Achilles heel
As I await to be tamed by your heel
With a slipper made of glass

Poem of the Day

poet George Gordon Byron

I speak not, I trace not, I breathe not thy name;
There is grief in the sound, there is guilt in the fame;
But the tear that now burns on my cheek may impart
