Civilization In The Beak Of A Bird Poem by sultan mahmud

Civilization In The Beak Of A Bird

Man is like a seed stuck to a bird's beak
That bird is in the Andaman Islands today
That bird may have placed the seed in Chimbuk Hill!
From this seed came a tree
Does People know where his birth line was?
Bengal's Kuchuri pana or from Latin countries
My canal bill is filled with baby raw!
This is how the genealogy of the tree continues
Sometimes the bird's beak, sometimes floating in the water!

Any species in the Amazon may have grown
In the gap of a thick forest next to my house!

We are like the seed in this bird's beak
I ran in the wilderness of the world for thousands of centuries
In the land of the Indus River from the lap of Maya civilization
From the Euphrates of Mesopotamia to the sediments of the Padma!

This is why I came here to this golden land
Where was my bloodline a thousand years ago?
Maybe some Finnis on board
Maybe by the way of an Arab sailor!

The people of the world have been running for ages
So much in search of safety, shelter, food
He is never a nomad, never an immigrant
Running on the lips of birds in the wilderness!

Today, nomadic people draw the boundaries of division
Human civilization trapped behind the passport visa!
