Clean And Always Washed Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Clean And Always Washed

If I suspected infidelity,
In my relationship.
To believe it loyal and faithful.
I would not hesitate to change hands.

Although I will admit,
The doing of this...
Would be an uncomfortable adjustment.
And a situation I'd hate to face.

"You told me you distrusted relationships.
And you were done being that close to anyone,
Ever again."

And...
The point you are trying to make,
Is...
What?

"You just said,
You would not hesitate to change hands.
If you suspected infidelity."

I don't believe this.
Do I have to explain 'everything' to you?
I'm talking about my hands.

"Your hands?
That doesn't make sense.
Oooohhh.
Why are you so nasty? "

Trust me.
They are clean and always washed.
Regardless where they've been!
