Clean Soul- pt. in a series of poems leading to my death

Next Sunday I’m going to go to Heaven wearing a pair of new shoes
I'd bought them a year ago and they're still in the box
A sharp looking pair of white high tops
Clean soles for my dirty deeds and feet....
It’s been such a long road home
With only one more mile to go

Ted, once upon a time it was the youthful desire to go in great speed with a cool pair of shorts - or that great T shirt. But I guess the same statement is made with the shoes. I'm not so sure about the 'clean' soul though - have you found a secret solvent that strong? Regards, Ivan
