Cliff Poem by Vera Sidhwa

Cliff

Rating: 5.0

Cliff

The cliff lay deep in my heart of hearts.
It could either be climbed or come down from.
The cliff's craggy shapes began to make me wonder,
How life's challenges shaped us.

This cliff was so tall, it had no breath.
The lack of oxygen in heights unknown,
It made me want to climb it.
It made me stare at it.

The cliff of my life that lay in my heart,
Was indeed impossible to climb,
But I had to.
But I had to.

I had to let you go at last,
And off the heights you had brought me to.
I needed that cliff climb to do it.
Exhausted as I was, I finally found peace.
