Clinging To A Hope Poem by Cheri Michelle

Clinging To A Hope

Guess we all go through drama at some point in our lives,
It can almost consume us completely,
or the stuff we're going through may blind our eyes.

Sometimes I sit down,
let the tears roll free,
just cry,
and cry,
letting them stain my cheeks.

One day I think I have a chance,
I really think there's hope,
then I'm stuck here,
alone again,
with my heart broke.

The only escape I have
is my dreams,
But even when I sleep
my life still hunts me.
It plays out like a game,
one I can't beat,
and I wonder if I'm meant to,
or will I always be in defeat?

Life's funny the way it goes,
but I'm still clinging to a hope,
that everything will all go through,
and things will work out
the way they were supposed to.
