Cold December Day Poem by Ronald Kerst

Cold December Day

I will never forget the day you left
It was a cold December day...
Things came undone, when you decided to run
and throw all that we had away.

It was hard to concieve it, I couldn't believe it
as the heart-ache was coming on strong.
I really loved you so, but wouldn't you know it,
You had been lying to me all along.

The nights were lonely, the bedroom was cold,
and the tears continued to flow...
I tried to survive without you in my life..
but my dreams wouldn't let you go.

When you cut to the chase, It's hard to erase
and move on to something new.
But I have survived, I'm still alive
and I'm doing what I have to do.

I will never forget the day you left
It was a cold December day...
Things came undone, when you decided to run
and throw all that we had away.

So much for us..so much for love
So much for that Cold December Day.

This is beautiful and deeply haunting, so touching are the words you chose, it brings tears to my eyes. Great writing!
