Cold Sleep Poem by Justin Baker

Cold Sleep

Rating: 5.0

Watch colors fade,
walls, ceiling, floor, more,
what's still here? nothing is seen...
Faith is there, though what good at that,
faith that my feet will still land,
faith that the colors i once saw remain in their state,
trust that the sun will rise as it always has,
what if it failed to appear...
a loss of the cosmic battle under the hills,
the battlefeild of rays and stars,
and shiny clouds forever more,
our lives, cease,
feet, fall through,
forgeting what was,
cold sleep, cold people,
wouldn't it be nice,
to not face the same warmth,
every single rise,
in pain, in loss,
but sleep.
