Coloring Life Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Coloring Life

The Earth...
Can be identified,
High above it.
Thousand of miles.
And further away.
To have an abundance of life.
Too various to describe,
As to which color preferred...
The Creator of Earth,
Emphasizes to better like.
That emphasis to create,
Is a man-made notion.
A commotion devoted,
To conflict and division.
Given attention,
Since the beginning...
Of awareness.
And consciousness of this.

This conscious awareness,
Given began...
To focus upon one race.
One race determined,
To isolate and separate...
From all the others.
Day and night to highlight,
Their unacceptance.
Of what God has done to do.
To choose...
How best the face of God,
Is reflected.

'God has many faces! '

'Tell me about it.
And yet...
So many refuse,
To realize and accept this.
And you and me,
Including everyone else...
Are subjected to having,
Many moods too! '

'And...
What is that comment,
Made to me suppose to mean? '

'No one on Earth,
Can be declared two faced.
With all that's going on,
Under one face...
Changing.
Without it being shown.
Or describe how that feels.'

'That for me is too deep,
To explain to anyone else.'

'And that is just one reason,
Why many refuse to accept...
What God has done,
To give them no other way...
They can express to confess it.'

'So...
What is left for us to do?
Pretend we all,
Have been born...
With common sense? '

'Well...
It has been said,
God works...
In mysterious ways.
However...
From one observer to another,
That miracle to have it done...
Has yet to happen.
To be the rule,
Without exceptions! '

'Meaning...what? '

'Many were born,
To have an abundance...
Of patience to tolerate,
Ignorance and fools made!
Appreciating more,
The various colors of life...
Only God has chosen,
In mysterious ways to create! '
