Colors Poem by William Kruse

Colors

Color the past an off-shade of haze,
a thin, plastic film laid over what was.
Color it happy or lonely, but gone.
Color the past an off-shade of love.

Color the present a light shade of hope
free of all bonds with no unpaid debts.
Color it living and loving and you:
Color the present a light shade of now.

Color the future a deep shade of dark;
grim and foreboding, looming beyond.
Color it empty and shapeless and waiting;
Color the future a deep shade of void.

Oh boy! I really like this poem, especially the first two verses. I do hope the future is less dark than bright. To me the 'deep shade of void' of the third verse relates to the future being a mystery, unknown. Very well done, my friend. A 10 indeed. Richard
