Coloured Heroes Poem by Greg Wilkinson

Coloured Heroes

How white and turquoise is that space,
That sees in many unusual place,
The bygone heroes are aflight,
To spaces made of blue and white.

How dark and sapphire is the deep.
The bounty of an endless sleep.
The hidden darkness is replete.
The water is a winding sheet.

How sable tempting is the night,
That comes to set the stars alight.
Escaping to a nobler place,
The airborne heroes quicken pace.

How white and pale the human seems,
When confound with sightless dreams.
The heart and head will stray together.
Mind and madness, one forever.
