Empty Ribs Poem by Greg Wilkinson

Empty Ribs

Rating: 5.0

Protestants have brown eyes
And Catholics have blue.
But what of the green?
What about them?
Do they have a place?
No. You must be wrong.
There are no green eyes.
Only brown and blue.
We’re set.
Ask them. Find out. See.
But this one has green eyes.
Protestant.
Brown and green eyes are Protestant.
And this one?
Blue eyes. Catholic. Truth.
Proof?
This one? Blue eyes. Catholic.
Protestant.
No. You must be wrong.
You. Green eyes.
Catholic.
No you must be wrong.
Protestants have brown eyes And Catholics have blue.
And what of the green?
What of them?
Are they atheists?
What’s an atheist?
Someone who doesn’t believe in God.
Who’s God?
