Colours As I See Them Poem by Patricia Darcy

Colours As I See Them

Rating: 3.5

BLUE - Is gentle and calm. Sitting above
us like a blanket covering the world,
but can have a coldness that no heart
could melt. Yet a colour of beauty.

RED - The seductress. Feisty and vibrant, alive
and warm. The colour of youth.

WHITE - Glistens like snow, soft and childlike,
yet it's coldness can freeze the soul.
A colour of purity.

YELLOW - The colour that makes the world seem alive.
It is warm and bright like the rays of the sun.
The colour of happiness.

BLACK - It's darkness chills the heart, smothers the
light, leaving a depressing desperation.
The colour of mortality.

GREEN - Fresh as the springtime air. Covering the
fields that stretch afar and the leaves that
shelter the trees from the sun.
Nature at its beautiful best.
The colour of life.
