I can't stop you from leaving
I can't make you change your mind
Your heart is set on soaring
Just come back to me in time

I'm on a deserted island here
and you're sailing on the ocean waves
as we say our sorrowful goodbyes
Please come back to me to stay

There's a question I can never have answered
and that's why you would want to leave me alone
No matter what transpires please promise
me this-Please come back home

Even if it's weeks, months or years
Please let me know, I'm just dangling
I can't quite function without knowing
when you'll be coming back to me

I'll wait for you by my bedroom window
I'll imagine you flying here by shooting star
I can watch the hour hand as it ticks
Just come back to me as you are

Through the pages of anguish I write
Across the bodies of water that rush forever
Convince me of only one thing.
Just promise me that we'll be together
Please come back to me
