I fell for him
for his smile, his laugh, his touch
I feel hard
I don't know what he saw in me
but something made him want me
I had never felt this before
when he saw me
his lips folded happily
every step I took towards him
my heart beat faster
and when I finally arrived before him
I could feel that thumping jewel float above the world
we were happy
but then reality woke us up from
what would soon become a nightmare
he had to see me go
Now when I think of him my rhythm weakens
the miles that separates us are like thorns in my chest
striking me every time I reach for those crimson petals
I fall back
not wanting to stain my satin skin
They say we can't have everything
but that doesn't keep us from wanting
and feeling the pain of not getting.
