Come To The Light Poem by Victor Okechukwu Anyaegbuna

Come To The Light

Come you images of the most high God,
Come, rise and walk in the heights of the Lord.
Take the cross, your strongest bridge across sin;
Your fence against fear, the foe of Satan.
On the cross your redemption calls today
Saying all faithful Christians come this way.

Hear the soft, sweet, tender, and gentle voice
That rings your hearts sole and greatest desires.
The knell of sins, origin of glory.
Rejoice on the cross your great hearts arouse
The weight of the cross is all our burdens
Yet Jesus carried it to Calvary.

It is not by your right, it is by His!
It is not by your might, it is by His!
It is not by your will, it is by His!
That anything good comes across your way.
So equip yourself with virtues of mirth
To be nearest His manger at His birth.

Remain in sin and you’ll ne’er find the way
Herod was wicked, foul; he ne’er found Christ.
Come to the light; see His glory and the star
Three wise men did and saw Angel Gabriel
Virgin Mary and Zechariah saw the light.
Cut the feeble strings binding you to sin.

Come you images of the Most High God
Revive your spirits, revive your good faith
Revive your good deeds, revive your clean thoughts
Sweep your hearts and clean them for His entrance
Weed your paths and clear them for His access
Jesus knocks, He brings joy into clean hearts.
