Communion 2 Poem by Steven B Taylor

Communion 2

Nature

Communion: Part II

Opus 3

The blue-green water of a wind-swept bay,
Greeted our eyes as we walked that day.
Immeasurable grinding washed the rock away,
...the pothole, left for us today!

Strenuous climbing filled our lungs with air.
The view from the top was of nature fair.
A friend and a friend kept communion there,
...with herons and ducks and deer to share.

Again at the pond, two souls reflect,
On beauty and aging, their thoughts connect,
And in nature's great forum their lives dissect,
...with popcorn and candy their bodies protect.

'If you go out to the woods', you'll find,
Companions singing a song that binds,
Two souls together for all of time,
...In a moment of joy, forever sublime!
